William Harper

I am an endocrinologist, general internist and Associate Professor of Medicine at McMaster University and staff physician at Hamilton health Sciences since 2002. My clinical practice has included diabetes, endocrinology, general medicine and medical assistance in dying (MAiD). I have been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, clinical research trials, clinical guideline development, medical licensing adjudication, as well as university and hospital administration. My primary motivation in all these endeavors has been to focus on decision-making through uncertainty both in the clinical realm as well as in organizational structures. My interests include applying convexity and game theoretical equilibrium strategies to problems with existential risk.
